| Mission Name: Diplomacy Rank: C Requirements: E-Rank Shinobi or Higher, Minimum 12 Posts Description: The village has been on recently good terms with Sunagakure, as a result the Hokage is sending you on a mission of diplomacy, you are to act as courier and deliver a parcel containing peace offerings from the Hokage herself to the Kazekage. It is likely another Shinobi Village may have come across this information, you must tread lightly as you make your journey.
Reward Based Upon Performance
Extra: This mission offers a larger than usual Renown reward, and will have a conflict involving another Site Member, playing against you. You will take seven posts minimum to travel to Sunagakure, and will not post past the sixth until your opponent has arrived. Good Luck!
He was going out of the village, Raiden Sakamoto couldn't help but sigh. He hadn't been out of the village in so long, and he would be going to Suna no less. He couldn't wait to get out of the village. He was getting tired of all the looks the villagers were giving him, as well as some of the ninja. He made his way to his apartment and went inside. After moving the destroyed furniture out of the way, he went into his room and grabbed a storage scroll. He proceeded to seal medical supplies, a two-weeks supply of food and water, clothes, extra kunai and shuriken. and a robe for once he hit the desert. He made his way over to the ruins of his kitchen and sighed. He made a quick lunch with the remains of his visible stockpile. He of course had a larger supply of food than was seen by the monthly vandalism's hidden away in his trusty storage scrolls, which he happened to keep on his person whenever he left the apartment not trusting them not to destroy them.
But today he wouldn't have to worry about that, cause today he was going on a mission to Suna, and he couldn't wait. He ate his meal, attached his scrolls, straightened his jacket and tanto, and walked out the door of his home. This was his chance to be free of the oppressive glares for a while, and he couldn't be happier. He doubted the people of Suna were much different from the people of Konoha, but at least they wouldn't know what he was, and that would mean no glares. He walked down the streets happily ignoring the looks he got passing by. He walked up to the guards at the gate and showed them his mission papers, he swore they looked relieved when they saw it. When they handed it back he exited the village and started the long journey to Suna, the village hidden in the sand.

| Four hours had passed since he left Konoha on his mission to Suna. The road was empty save for a passing merchant on his way into the village. The forest was quiet as he walked down the road. It was going to be a long journey and there was no way he was going to be able to make it in one day so he was going to have to pace himself. He made sure to keep an eye on the trees as he made his way toward Suna. It was going to be a while before he reached the end of the forest and the beginning of the desert. The scenery wasn't going to change any time soon, and the Hokage DID tell him that there was the possibility of having enemy ninja appearing and trying to stop him. This was his big chance to show everyone that he was not a monster, well, as long as he didn't leave claw marks or things along that line.
Sigh, "This is going to be a long day."
A couple hours later, he sat down on a downed tree and opened his storage scroll. He released his pre-made lunch and started eating. This is going to take a while.

| The trees kept going on and on. Raiden had been walking for what seemed like days, in fact, it was. But the unchanging scenery was driving him crazy. He was starting to wonder how the Hokage would feel if he burned down half the forest. Shaking his head he decided that he would practice with his rock staff. He did the handsigns and called out, "Earth Release: Rock Staff Technique!" A nearby rock broke into pieces and formed an earthen spear. He grabbed the staff and went through slow motions to get used to the weight. Then he started to pick up his pace: thrusts, counter-thrusts, blocks, parries; he did all this while still walking.
He kept walking down the road, twirling his rock staff. After a while his arm became sore so he sealed the staff inside his storage scroll. He wasn't expecting to find any rocks in the desert so he didn't think he would get another chance to make one. And whenever he would pass by a rock he would make more spears, in case the one he had broke during the fights he may or may not have with enemy ninjas.

| "... Yes Father I understand"
Famous last words? Perhaps, but the mission given would not be an easy one. The young proud and noble Hatakeyama had been assigned an espionage mission of great potential, and great danger. He was to approach and manipulate a message sent by courier, hopefully whatever corruption that he could do would be enough to sabotage the relationship between Leaf and Sand.
The flight had been somewhat dull, winds catching very few moments of actual work for Gin, whose wide wings lay flat against the current, gliding for miles at a time, her single white feather flapping backward toward Musashi, the only visible source that the duo was actually moving besides the changing landscape below. It would be another fer hours until dark, and by his coordinates he would be ambushing the target in less than four hours.
It would be time to prove himself soon enough.

| The sky was dark as Raiden made his camp on the outskirts of the desert. He had crossed the the border without any complications arising and had continued until he reached the end of the forest and beginning of the sea of sand. He sighed. This was going to take a lot out of him. Luckily he thought ahead and brought a robe to shield himself from the suns glare, so that wouldn't be a problem. But making sure that he got to Suna before he ran out of supplies would be. He really hoped that he packed enough.
Another problem was that he had to keep his storage scrolls and the message to the Kazekage close to his body, out of sight of the sun's malevolent glare, or they might burst into flames from exposure. He looked out through the edges of the trees across the desert. "Somewhere out there lies Suna, the Hidden Sand Village." he said to himself.
He knew that nighttime was probably not the best time to go across the desert, but he wasn't really willing to face the scorching heat just yet; so he pulled the robe on and set out. Soon enough the trees were left far behind and sand was all that he saw. He unsealed a rock staff from his scroll and continued on his way. The staff would serve two purposes: one: to the help him walk, and two: to serve as a weapon in case the enemy showed up while he was caught out in the open. His tanto was being held in his free hand, so he could prepare himself for whatever came his way. He really didn't want to fight anyone, but if they got in the way of his mission, he would not hesitate to get rid of them, by one definition or the other.

| The nights air cut across Gin's wing beats softly, wind the wind dying it was more difficult now to progress forward, but maneuvering would be simpler. The air was somewhat ingrained with the light weight of the sands themselves, causing Musashi to raise his scarf, covering most of his face. The boy's journey had been light thus far, and his stomach growled in the lust for food, but he was yet to starve and should be within sight of his target, if only he could see it through the nights darkness.
Scanning the earth below Musashi's eyes would begin to wonder, minute after minute endlessly for a sing of life, anything that could posses a human potential, it was a long and dull experience, having little success at all. At one point the boy had found a lizard scattering between a dune and the main path, though as it drifted into the desert his hopes begun to fade, was he failing?
This could not happen.
Landing to rest his partners wings, and unwrap a small packed meal for them to share Musashi spent the good portion of the evenings first hour relaxing his body and mind, he needed constitution to finish this mission... and perhaps his opponent did as well! Realizing his calculations based on a nights rest this evening, he found it exciting that perhaps his target had instead trudged on further, whats the worst that could happen, he lay an ambush and wait if not. It was a perfect tactic for what he could muster. Petting across the neck of Gin softly Musashi rose onto her back once again, taking flight down the path, keeping a medium height so his eyes have less trouble in the moonlight dunes.
It took a swift speed by Gin, but luckily a sight came upon the duo, a single boy walked, staff in hand as he trudged through the night. His prediction had been correct. Raising in altitude to avoid detection Gin and Musashi flew forward, raising to a position directly above the target to try and take advantage of the only true blind spot most humans possessed.
His kunai flew swift with what precision he could offer to its path, gaining speed and velocity.

| Raiden kept walking through the desert. It had been a long day and he was getting tired. Despite having a demon sealed inside of him and it giving him abnormal stamina levels, he was still human. He lifted back his head and yawned, his arms stretching into the air because of the action. But just as he was about to continue on he heard a strange whistling sound. He was just about to lower his head to look around when something hard slammed into his forehead protector, knocking him backwards onto the ground. "What the hell?" If the weight on his forehead was any indication, the thing that hit him was stuck to his protector. He reached up and took it off. Raiden looked at it closely and saw that a kunai had embedded itself into the metal. He yanked it out. He gave a sigh of relief, if the metal had been any thinner, he would have died. Thank goodness for hitai-ates. And then something hit him: someone must have thrown it. Quickly tying his protector back around his head, took his robe off and brought his tanto up to bear. He looked around not seeing anything or anyone out on the endless tides of sand. And based on the kunais trajectory, it didn't come from someone hiding underground. That left only one place: up. He quickly scanned the skies and tried to see if he could spot anything. Unfortunately because of the moon he wasn't going to be able to see anything in the air. So, he fell back to something that worked whenever he found himself facing an invisible opponent: Lava Geysers. Thanks to the powers of his tenant, he was able to use the rare Lava Release. And now he intended to make use of it. He stuck his staff and tanto into the sand and planted his hands onto the ground. Pushing his chakra into his hands he called out, "Lava Release: Lava Geyser!" And true to its name a great geyser of lave burst from the ground and went straight ahead. He hoped that it drew out his mystery opponent so that he could end this quickly, he wasn't relishing the idea of a fight. | |

| His shot had been perfect... if not for plain damned luck!
The clank rang through the desert as the kunai slammed into his opponents foreheads protector,
"Blast it!" Musashi whispered to himself as his first attack failed, but he would need to press on, his task had been set and it would take more than this single ninja to prevent his success. Recapturing the situation his opponent begun a technique releasing a dreadful fount of lava geyser in front of himself, a small sigh of relief on Musashi's part, as he still had the element of surprise.
Then again only one person was capable of such jutsu, this would be Konoha's four-tailed host. A dangerous opponent to say the least, he would need to use caution, no telling what kinds of tricks he or she would be capable of preforming. Making a roundabout with Gin, Musashi picked up some speed, drawing his favored Fumma Shuriken from its back holster, gripping it with intention to engage in melee combat, the back approach would offer the most protection at this point, his opponent hopefully focusing on the technique just used, Gin's speed served most of the power behind the attack, allowing Musashi to jump on a downward diagonal angle, gripping tightly for the slash about to be made. Meanwhile Gin continued to fly forward, passing into the vision of the opponent and continuing forward with speed, attempting to draw attention. Musashi would need to be careful if his attack failed, his skill in Taijutsu was limited.

| Raiden looked up and saw a giant bird fly into view. That must be where the attack came from. He drew back his arm steadying his arm holding the rock staff, and threw. The spear raced onward towards its target, flying straight for its chest. But as soon as he released he saw that the bird had no rider. So where was its master? With that in mind, he slammed his hands down again and called out his signature deadliest jutsu, "Lava Release: Lave Geyser!" He pushed the lava geyser to his side. Then he did it again to his other side and his back. He brought up his tanto. He unsealed another rock staff and segmented it. He called out, "Earth Release: Rock Staff Technique!" and sent them flying in front of him and above him. He was quite accomplished when it came to armed combat. The stupid thing was: He had no idea where his opponent was. And that made this fight very risky. If he didn't locate him quickly, he might run out of chakra and be forced to use the demon's. And that was something he did NOT want to do. "Come out come out wherever you are. My demon is thirsty for blood, and I intend to give it to him." He was lying of course, at least about the last part. His demon was ALWAYS thirsting for blood, it was the only thing it talked about besides demanding he give up his body to it and that he do everything it told him to. | |

| Musashi's vision of the thrown spear would connect with Gin, allowing the bird to quickly roll to the side, dodging at the last moment with minimal effort, the problem now was his opponent arming and attacking without a true target.
The Jinchuriki opponent sent multiple geysers out into the night, illuminating some of the evening sands. The path and trajectories were off to large degrees but the fact they hadn't aimed for Gin foretold Musashi's unveiling. The first geyser in the back had prevented him from preforming his melee attack and thus again he would have to form a duel-pronged attack with Gin. The bird instinctively would be circling around awaiting instruction and as they're minds meld Musashi's attack went into motion.
Gin darted toward the earth riding low, low enough that the light sand whipped up around her wings as the gliding motion attack shot out toward the opponent, simultaneously Musashi would make his attack, releasing a small wave of shuriken at his opponents feet, attempting to cripple movement. This attack would give away his position, but that was alright, it was a two versus one after all.

| Raiden jumped backward as a bunch of shuriken embedded themselves into the sand at his feet. he looked up and saw for the first time who his assailant was. It was a boy around his own age and he appeared to be working alongside the giant bird. I guess that answers the question of who his master is.
He opened his storage scroll once again and released all of his stave's save for one. He only had 4 spears left, he only hoped that they were enough. He picked up one of them and hurled it straight at the bird. After that he proceeded to use his Lava Geyser technique again, but this time he had a target. I really hope this guy doesn't know any water jutsus. After activating the geyser, he fragmented his second staff into three pieces and hurled them after his initial one. And even though he might be outnumbered, that did not mean he was outmatched.

| More of his earth staff javelin throws, though numbers had increased greatly this bout. As they descended upon Gin she was forced to pull up, giving up her attack altogether, too many to dodge. Musashi on the other hand had time to take advantage of his opponents ranged target on the bird, creating a single Bunshin clone to kick him self off of he dodged the lava font sideways, landing on the sand with his feet ready to engage. And engage he did, a small burst of speed and Musashi was sprinting toward his opponent, drawing the second Fumma Shuriken from his back holster to swing alongside his first.
The attack created a 'X' like cross in swing as the two weapons crossed mid assault, both were of proper height to slash his opponents mid section, though his opponent was sure not to just sit there and take the hit. As Musashi fought, Gin preformed her roundabout, gaining speed for another aerial attack.

| Raiden saw his opponent come flying at him with two blades and thought fast. He grabbed his second-to-last rock staff and brought it up to block the first blade while he brought his tanto up to block the second. The shuriken broke the stone spear in half, but the momentum was lost and that part of the attack ended. His tanto was able to stop the blow, but he was brought to his knees because of the impact.
Right at this moment he was getting tired of his attacker's determination (or as he liked to call it suicide complex) and planned to put an end to it. After stopping the attack he jumped to his feet and leapt backwards leaving his now broken staff behind. He went through the handsigns and called out, "Earth Release: Rock Staff Technique!" The halved spear rose into the air and launched themselves at the enemy nin.

| ((Sorry for the delay, had some stuff IRL))
His opponent was quick on his feet, that was for certain, reducing the momentum and stopping one attack altogether was not a simple task. His counter attack perhaps could have created more problems, but the momentum of the smashed staff was shattered by the edges of Musashi's Fumma Shuriken just as quickly as it had initially. Musashi made a somewhat taunting maneuver out of it, showing effortless slashes and a straight face, even walking toward his target blades in hand.
Meanwhile Gin's attack would come, during Musashi's taunt the birds silent attempt to approach would end with his talons lashing out toward the opponents back with a craw.

| Raiden was starting to lose his cool. This guy not only attacked him out of the blue, but he also had the audacity to taunt him. This was not going to end well.
Raiden slammed his hands down onto the ground and performed his signature technique once again: "Lava Release: Lava Geyser!" Once he set off the wall of lava he grabbed his last staff and brought it up to his shoulder. As soon as the geyser vanished, he launched it. He was not going to lose this contest of strength.

| His opponent apparently never noticed the giant demonic crow about to slam into his backside, or he would've countered in some way. The lave geyser technique was getting annoying quickly, causing Musashi to stop his taunting and dodge once again to the side, exiting his dodge with a small roll, and softly composing himself again. Musashi's mission wouldn't be jeopardized by some punk without the courage to fight him head on. Releasing his families technique his scarf seemed to separate from itself, flower-petal like objects rising into the air around him sourced from the scarf itself, small jolts of electricity could be seen shooting between petals, signifying their Raiton Nature.
Though he hadn't much to do with this boost, it was certainly an intimidation factor, and besides Gin was literally about to shred the boy in half.

| The claws from the giant bird tore into his back, and he cried out in pain. He fell to the ground screaming in agony. He had been injured before, but this was like nothing he had ever seen before. On a side note he was wondering when the Four-tails chakra would heal him. Slowly rising to his feet, he calls upon the power of the demon monkey. A cloak of chakra covered his body and a single tail started to form behind his back. His rage grew as well. This little skirmish was getting him angry, and it was time to end it, consequences be damned. He crouched low, then sprung forward toward his opponent, fist flying for his enemies face.
(Sorry about that. Edited)

Gin had successfully manage the rip at their opponent, though the reaction may have actually been worse than expected.
The man had fallen from the pain but rose quickly, a layer of Chakra surrounding him in an ominous fashion, a single tail extending as he flew forward for a punch, the difference in speed caught Musashi off guard and he was sent spiraling backward, sliding across the sand as he tried to brace himself. The blow had connected with his stomach, cracking one of his ribs, the internal damage was somewhat threatening.
Rising to asses the situation Musashi needed to change tactics, and calling the still close Gin he quickly got off the ground and far away from his opponent, releasing all of the standard Shuriken he had remaining in his pack in an attempt to damage his opponent before he fully released.
The power of a Jinchuriki was fearsome indeed.

| Raiden was reveling in his new-found powers. A part of him knew that he shouldn't be this happy to destroy his opponent, but that part was being suppressed by the Monkey who was egging him on, screeching, "Kill, kill, kill, KILL!" over and over and over again. He let out an inhuman roar.
With his enhanced speed he easily dodged the majority of the shuriken thrown at him. But a couple of them managed to hit him, not that that stopped him, he just kept going. He chased after his predator-turned-prey with reckless abandon. He was not going to let him get away. He pulled the two shuriken out of his body and threw them back at their owner. This fool had the nerve to attack a Jinchuuriki, and now he was going to pay the price.

| Musashi and Gin spiraled avoiding the returned Shuriken throws, this battle had turned for the worse with the power of the Jinchuriki. Musashi had to make a judgment call, and it would be impossible to continue his mission without endangering the nearby innocents of Sunagakure should the beast form completely, hopefully if he left the opponents rage would subside.
He had gained a tactical analysis of his opponent for now, he would report back home and allow another plan to be formulated. Gin took off high into the clouds, speeding along the nicer air's currents toward home.
- Left Thread.

| The Monkey was furious. Its prey had gotten away, and now it had no blood to spill. In a fit of rage Raiden started shooting off lava geysers into what was left of the night. After a little while he ran out of energy and collapsed.
A few hours later, just before the sun came up, he came to. He was still tired, but the anger was gone. Getting up, he looked around among the sand dunes for an hour before he found his robe and other things, and a good thing he did too. The sun came up just as he put on his robe.
Unsealing his last stone staff, he hobbled onward. He still had a long way to go. He kept going forward. Battle fatigue and just plain exhaustion quickly took there toll. Fortunately for Raiden he found a small cave hidden among the rolling dunes. He couldn't help but sigh in relief. Laying his stuff down he leaned against the wall and let his mind slip into the welcoming darkness.

| Hours later he woke up, the sun already high in the sky. Getting up, he grabs his things and set out again. Looking out across the sand he realizes that he is a lot closer to Suna then he had previously thought, in fact, you could say that he was a couple miles away.
So, setting out he made his way up to the village gates(running of course) and proceeded to march right up to the guards there and hand them his travel papers and request a meeting with the Lord Kazekage.
