Mission - Cry Wolf

Mission -
Mission Name: Cry Wolf
Rank: D (Genin only)
Reward: 10 experience points
Requirements for completion: Player must conduct a detailed mission thread containing a total of 5 posts before returning to present the completion of said mission to the Kage.
Number Of Shinobi Needed: No more than 2
Mission Description: Near the outskirts of the village - near the countryside, a farmer is having a hard time keeping wild wolves from sneaking in during the middle of the night and attacking his herd. The job of the shinobi(s) who wishes to undertake this mission must successfully protect the herd of farm animals from wolf attack until dawn. The mission is deemed a failure if even one piece of livestock is either maimed or killed. Have the farmer sign the scroll once the mission has been completed to confirm that the objective has been met and return it to the Kage you received this mission from.


How much longer until those wolves show up, Torao? Paitence is key to success Shi. The sun was setting off in the western moutain range. Torao sat on a rock out in the farmers field. Shi was right at his side, standing and listening for the howl of the wolves. The farmer walked up to Torao after herding most of the animals into the barn, pens, and small pasture, informing Torao of such and that he was going to sleep. Torao acknowledged this and arose from his rock, making his way to the fence that surrounded the area. Shi, our main target is the Alpha male. Taking him out can confuse the others, being they won't have a leader. Got it Torao... Are you ready? Yes, I am. Split up. You know the call if you get sight on them.

On that command, Shi started running at a decent speed and started making his way near the barn and pens. Torao walked to the pasture and hopped the fence, soon after beginning to walk around there. As nightfall came, both Shi and Torao's eyes sharpened so they could see more clear in the darkness. The wolves were on their way.

The first wolf howled off in the distance. Both Shi and Torao heard it, their battle cry. Torao and Shi began looking all around, making their eyes meet the hills, mountains and plains. Shi then noticed something, perhaps one of the wolves. Shi's eyes sharpened and peered closer at the hills. There one was. A strong, large gray wolf. Shi roared with power , and made two awkward sounds to alert Torao, this was their signal to alert one another of a wolf's position. Shi then made another sound to symbolize he was going after it. Torao sent back another signal with a sound, saying he agreed to this. Shi bolted off at a very fast pace towards the hill. His animal instincts were kicking in and was ready for possible bloodshed.

As Shi was off about to battle, Torao noticed his own little problem. A wolf was coming from the mountains, heading towards the pasture. Torao gave Shi his signal as he went in for his target at a breakneck pace. As Torao went off, Shi let out a signal he was nearing and about to take down his target. Shi leaped high into the air and went in for a pounce, right on his target. The wolf was caught off guard and was tackled to the ground by Shi. To subdue and stop the wolf from moving, Shi viciously went in for a bite on the wolf's front right leg, and made a connection. The wolf yelped as Shi's sharp Liger fangs sunk into its leg, and hurting the muscle greatly. Shi then arose from the wolf and ran off back towards the barn.

Torao was now at his target, and reached into his back pouch for two kunai. As he pulled them out, he too leaped in the air, going in for a tackled as well. The wolf held its paw forward, and managed to cut Torao's torso slightly with one of its claws. Torao still managed to tackle it even though he just took some pain. He then took his right arm, which was holding a kunai, and went in for a stab on the wolf's right leg. Torao managed to connect and stabbed right above the wolf's knee, causing it great pain. The wolf yelped much like Shi's victim, and just like Shi's victim, was subdued and could not cause much more harm. Torao pulled his kunai out and ran back to his pasture post, when he noticed two wolves nearing it.

Shi was already back at its post when it saw two.. no three wolves coming for the bar and pens. One had a more different look to it though. It had scars and seemed much more stronger then the others. At this moment, Shi realized who it was. The alpha male. Shi let out the final signal to Torao, this signal informing Torao that the Alpha male was in sight. Torao let back his "roger" signal, and at this moment was about to confront his two wolf problem.

Torao this time instead of two kunai, drew the Raiga Tsume and Raiga Hanone twin tantos he had. He held his right hand, which was holding the Raiga Tsume, infront of him as a sort of shield, and the Raiga Hanone down in his left hand, so he could come in with a powerful swing. The wolves attention drew off of the livestock and directed towards Torao. One wolf leaped forward towards Torao, when at this moment, his muscles tensed and he swung his Raiga Hanone with power in a diagonal fashion. The wolf managed to hit Torao in time though and tackle him to the ground, scratching his chest up greatly. Torao then thrusted Raiga Tsume into the wolf's torso and back legs, knocking the wolf off of him. After regaining himself, he stood up and noticed the other wolf was back on track towards the livestock. Torao was out of breath, but tried his hardest to catch up to the wolf. As he was in range, the wolf once again took attention on him, and leaped for him. Torao's eyes sharpened and his teeth suddenly resembled fangs. His nails grew into claws and a red aura began to surround Torao. Torao firmly grasped Raiga Tsume and stabbed forward, right into the wolf's chest. As soon as this happened, Torao's demonic looking eyes went back to normal and his nails and teeth went back to normal. The red aura was gone as well. Torao then noticed he stabbed his tanto through the wolf, and quickly pulled it out. He checked and noticed no vitals were harmed, but it will take a while for this wolf to heal. Speaking of healing, all of the scratches Torao had gotten disappeared. Torao also felt energetic again. Torao then sheathed his tantos and went off to help Shi with the Alpha.

As Shi was staring down the Alpha on the hill, the alpha sent his two wolves, most likely two good guardians, to attack Shi. They were fast and fierce , almost as fast as Shi. Shi took a defensive stance as he watched the two move in good formation towards himself. However, out of nowhere, three kunai came flying in towards one of the guards, one piercing its torso. Shi then looked off from the direction they came from to see a sprinting Torao, with two more kunai at the ready. Shi then brought his attention back to the other guard who was nearing him. The guard came in with a powerful pounce, which Shi just nearly dodged. The other guard was focused on Torao who was close at range with him.

Shi! Take out these two, then we'll worry about the Alpha. Got it! Torao began circling his target as the two were tensing up. Torao grasped his two kunai in hand and watched as the wolf was in pain from the Kunai from earlier, that were still inside of its torso. Torao bolted forward, head first, as the wolf stood up on its hind legs and went in for a quick strike with its paw, straight for the center of Torao's torso. Torao tried to dodge by going right, but still got stabbed with the wolf's claws in the left shoulder. He grunted in pain, as he stabbed the kunai in his right hand into the leg that the wolf had in Torao's left shoulder. He grabbed one from the Wolf's torso that was stabbed in there, and went in for another stab in the wolf's same leg. He grabbed the second kunai from the wolf's torso and then kicked the wolf in its stomach to knock it away, tearing up his shoulder a little. While exerting enough force from his legs, Torao tackled and dealt the final blow to the wolf. The wolf was knocked out, and was completely harmless. Torao grabbed his two kunai out of the wolf's leg and returned them to his back pouch, as well as the two in his hands. He once again drew his Tantos Raiga Tsume and Hanone and stood awaited Shi's battle to end.

Shortly after the beginning of Torao's battle began, Shi was in heated combat with his opponent. After the wolf's first, failed attempt, the air grew more and more dense. Shi was waiting for the wolf to slip up and make a quick, clean take down. The wolf was bending back, suggesting it was going to lunge forward any moment. Shi extracted his claws and his crisp yellow hues glowed brightly in the moonlight. His white fur speckled ever so slightly, with some blood on it from earlier, near his maw and legs. As the Alpha guardian finally released his energy and lunged, Shi jumped forward a little lower then the wolf and made a powerful claw strike straight into the belly. As the wolf landed, Shi turned around and pounced onto the wolf, swiping quick with its paw onto the wolf's side. The guardian was defeated, and after such, Shi walked over to Torao and looked at the Alpha, who was as ready as Torao for combat.

So.. You're the Alpha.

The alpha wolf stood tall at the top of the hill. He was much larger then the other wolves, and his scars shined in the night time glow, most likely representing experience. He slowly walked down the hill as Shi and Torao took stance. Torao had his Raiga Tsume and Raiga Hanone in his hands, Tsume in the right, and Hanone in the left. Shi was showing his fangs to try and intimidate his opponent, though it clearly had no effect. The alpha then broke into a breackneck dash and charged straight for Torao. Torao grew a shocked expression, before quickly putting both swords in an x like fashion infront of him. Shi! Get ready to strike him! Shortly after these words, the wolf tackled Torao down to the ground, where he began biting ferociously, but the swords were able to keep it at a distance. Shi himself then headbutted the Alpha, which through off its balance. Torao got into a kneel at Shi's side as the wolf quickly regained itself. It appeared as if it was barely hurt. Now, its our turn.. Shi lunged forward and swung at the wolf with its claws, while the wolf itself struck its claws at Shi's paw, which was a double edged move. Torao then jumped up and went in for a double strike on the wolf's back. The Raiga Tsume and Hanone both connected and hit pretty hard it appeared. The wolf yelped and jumped back to gain ground. It held its paw that was wounded above the ground to avoid putting pressure as it let out a cry of anguish. He knew it was over, and wanted to help save any remaining wolves.

After it's cry, many different wolves limped and crawled over to their alpha in pain, showing they couldn't fight any longer. The guardians arose and went over to their alpha as well. Shi and Torao looked at the pack, wounded and defeated. The sun was rising and the morning light revealed all of their wounds. Stay here Shi, I'll get the farmer. Torao walked over to the house and entered to go consult with the farmer. He informed him no livestock got hurt, and all wolves were subdued. The farmer wanted the wolves gone before declaring the task complete, as they'd only attract more problems. The farmer loaned Torao a cart, and Torao and Shi got all wolves onto the cart.

They walked off and made a long journey to find a good, rich forest. Shi was listening into the wolves little whimpers and sounds, as he remarked to Torao, You know, I can kind of understand them. They apparently lost their forest to human expansion, and began hunting here at this farm. Lets find them a nice home with a lot of life. Got it. Torao and Shi pulled the cart far until they made it far off from the village, and found a nice wilderness area. Torao took some of his torn jackets cloth and used it to dress the wolves wounds. Torao then unloaded all wolves into the forest and left them, knowing they can live in peace here and not die off. Torao and Shi then brought back the cart to the farm after traveling for a long time. They gave the cart back to the farmer and after such, the farmer signed the scroll, confirming a complete mission.

If those wolves come back, just let me know. They shouldn't though, so long as human cruelty doesn't reach that area.
