  • Name: Auditory Comprehension
    Type: Supplementary Ninjutsu
    Rank: B-rank
    Requirements: Automatically gained once the user has knowledge of 25 TP of Sound Release techniques.
    Description: A sound releases user has experienced many different types and used many different types of sound. At this point, hearing and interpreting sound becomes second hand. The user can now interpret sounds heard, rather then just hearing them, deciphering what type of sound is made,location, etc. The user must train to understand the different types of sound made, listed below.

  • Name: Jigoku no Mimi (Hells ears) Universal
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: none
    Description: The way this works is that the user concentrates along the Sound release as they push the chakra along towards their ears. As the user does this, they concentrate on certain sounds that surrounds the user.If the sounds are in a large area and more sounds is created the user is capable of identifying the general location as to where the sound is coming from.

  • Name: Fukuwajutsu (Ventriloquism)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: none
    Description: The user concentrates on the chakra within, and along the mouth. As they do this the user transmits a few words and uses their sound release to where the sound does not come forth. As the user does this the words are "thrown" out. This allows them throw their voice or move any sounds they can make with their mouth to any location without the sound fading. If by chance the user is capable of noticing or knowing the exact location of an ear, the user is capable of whispering the message into their ear.

  • Name: Suzu Senbon no Genkaku (Illusion Bell Needles)
    Type: Ninjutsu / Genjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: Must have bells
    Description: This technique lasts for one post which is enough time for the user to take the time to attack with more of a decisive and a more of an important tactical attack. When the opponent is hit with this attack the opponent feels nauseous and the sense of balance is compromised to the point where the user feels they wish to throw up. As this occurs the vision of the opponent becomes blurry and doubled. With the small bell the maximum distance of this technique is ten meters.

  • Name: Sonar
    Type: Supplementary Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-C-Ranked
    Requirements:
    Description: The user performs the need hand seals. From there, the user emits 3,very low pitched sound waves(via voice or weapon). The sound travels very quickly in a 360 degree radius. The low pitched sound bounces off various objects with the area and returns to the user to interpret.With this done, the user can pin point enemy movement and location infractions of a second. The draw back to this that the sound wave only travels in a flat line until a C-rank is attained. The user begins with 10 meters distance, increasing 20 Meters every time learned. After50 meters, Training is moved to a C-Rank, which then allows the user to emit the sound wave in all three dimensions. Every time learned inC-ranked increase the distance to 25 meters, With a maximum of 150meters.

  • Name: Oto Shouheki (sound Barrier)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-C-Ranks
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: While holding the ox hand seal, the user emits a very low pitched sound. The sound waves are large and effect air pressure. Incoming projectiles bend away and are steered off course, effectively missing there target.. The large sound waves only travel a short distance(D-rank= 6 feet, C-rank= 16 feet)

  • Name: Self Deafening
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: none
    Description: In performing the said hand seal, the user focuses charka to their own eardrums and creates a thick layer over them. In doing so, the user becomes temporarily deaf and incapable of hearing sounds what so ever. This layer of charka however may not be canceled by will, and the user must wait for the duration of the jutsu for it to end. The effects of such a jutsu last only two posts due to the weak strength of it,however it is completely effective at making the user deaf.

  • Name: Furattohitofushi no Jutsu (Flat Note Art)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: Another Song Art
    Description: While playing a song, in order to avoid an oncoming attack, a flat note can be played and this Jutsu activated, leaving behind a usually inanimate object and a puff of smoke.

  • Name: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki (Vocal Symphony Knowledge)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-S-Rank
    Requirements: Ototon as primary element
    Description: This technique is the user's ability to combine their chakra with the vibrations emanating from their vocal cords, creating the unique voice techniques. In order to be able to perform a Voice technique, the user must have this technique of a corresponding rank. Thus, if they want to learn a D Rank Voice technique, they must have Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki D Rank. C Rank is required for C Rank techniques, and so on.

  • Name: Hibiki Sakuran (Echo Confusion)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki D Rank.
    Description: The user splits his vocal sound waves into many pieces, sending them rushing in all directions. Anyone tracking based on sound will be be set by the user's voice from all directions, concealing their true position.

  • Name: Fuda Shindou (Seal Temor)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: D-Rank
    Requirements: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki D Rank.
    Description: The user sings a harmonious melody, creating a tremor in their opponent's hands by resonating with them. This cause the opponent's hand seals to slow, and possibly cause them to mess up the hand seals if they are in a long string or being performed at high speed. The tremor lasts for two posts.

  • Name: Sasayaki no Jutsu
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: Fukuwajutsu
    Description: The user concentrates on the chakra within, and along the mouth. As they do this the user transmits a few words and uses their sound release to where the sound does not come forth. As the user does this the words are "thrown" out. This allows them throw their voice or move any sounds they can make with their mouth to any location without the sound fading. The words may be whispered out if the user wishes and is recommended for this type of technique. The Fukuwajutsu only allows so much words but this technique allows an unlimited amount of wording if the user wishes. If the user learns this technique since the beginning by the time the user becomes B Class the user is capable of doing half a bird hand seal as a hold in order to do.

  • Name: Himei no Jutsu (Shriek)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: This technique has three separate tiers for both the opponent and the user. Depending on the very range of the attack and where the opponent is what matters for this type of technique. The user's difficulty class is what separates the magnitude of the attack as well. The technique has a range of twenty meters for the basic D Class Ninja. When the user opens up their mouth they concentrate on the very vocal chords of their throat and push forth in all directions a massive scream capable of great damage is thrown out. For every difficulty class the range increases by five meters with a maximum of forty meters for S Class.For any opponent that is within one third of distance from the user the opponent is unable to hear for three posts, feels nauseous for two posts, and can mot move for one post. For any opponent that is within two thirds distance from the user the opponent is unable to hear for two posts, feels nauseous for one post. For any opponent that is within three thirds distance from the user the opponent is unable to hear for one post. No matter what Class the user is in the user is unable to hear for three posts.

  • Name: Oto Dangan (Sound Bullet)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-B-Rank
    Requirements: Shriek and Ultra Sound Vibration
    Description: While holding the the tiger hand seal, chakra begins to flow between the small gap left by the two hands being held together. The user proceeds to position the hand seal held over his/her own mouth now. All sounds emitted through the hand seal are converted and charged by the chakra, to become far more deadlier. The chakra compresses, and alters the sounds wave lengths, forcing them into a smaller area (roughly the size of senbon needles). The entire process occurs within fractions of a second the user is able to create multiple sound bullets. The sound bullet itself travels at amazing speeds and are extremely hard to dodge.

    -Upon hitting the opponent, the sound bullets travel right through the human body. Once inside the body, the sound bullet clashes against every cell in the vicinity, vibrating them violently. Water retained in the cell vibrate so much, that they explode upon themselves. To the opponent,he/she will suffer searing pain in the area where the sound bullet hits.
    -This jutsu is best used on open extremities of the opponent
    C-Rank: The user is able to create three sound bullets that travel a maximum of 40 meter
    B-Rank: The user is able to create 6 sound bullets that travel a maximum of 60 meters.

  • Name: Onkyou Nokku-Bakku (Sonic knock back)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: The user emits large, compressed sound wave (about 4 feet in diameter, 1 foot thick. Reaches a Maximum distance of 25 meter) which travels to the opponent within seconds. The compress sound wave intensify air pressure to the point were it knocks over the opponent. The wave is nonlethal and can either knock the opponent over or push them back up to 15 meters

  • Name: Algorithmic Decipher
    Type: Ninjutsu, supplementary
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: must unlock Auditory Comprehension
    Description: The user can comprehend and decode sound waves emitted through"tapping". This is done by hearing a string of sounds, measuring their pitch, flow, consistency, etc. Any forms of writing/tapping, will now be understood and reproduced by the user. This is extremely useful in spying on opponent or even sending messages back and forth.

  • Name: Bodily Decipher
    Type: Ninjutsu, supplementary
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: must unlock Auditory Comprehension
    Description: The user interprets sound waves emitted by opponent. By understand the sound waves created by walking, breathing, heart beat, etc. The user is able to gauge their enemies bodily specification, such as their height,weight, muscle mass, etc.
    This is extremely useful in gathering information on opponents before ever encountering them.
    -This jutsu can also be used to retrieve information on multiple opponents as well.

  • Name: Ketatamashii Gachin (Piercing Clash)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: After performing the needed hand seals, the user reaches for a metallic throwing projectile. The chakra quickly infuses into weapon and the user proceeds to throw it at an opponent. Once projectiles clash into solid surface (preferable another metallic or stone object- which provides optimal sound creation) chakra amplifies the sound waves created in the clash. Chakra within the weapon is released and greatly intensifies sound. The sound generated only reaches a maximum of a 5foot radius, which is why the user will want the projectile to be blocked intently. The five foot radius is sufficient to harm the opponent and cannot be increased in anyway.The user who falls for this move will suffer searing pain in their ear, minor disorientation (one post), and the inability to hear (one post).
    -This technique is also limited by distance. After traveling at least 20meters from the user, chakra dissipated completely, making the jutsu ineffective.
    -This Technique must be learned multiple times. When first learned, the user is only able to use this jutsu onto throwing weapon. Every time learned allows the user to use and additional projectile.
    -A maximum of six weapons can only be used
    -Small weapons such as senbon cannot be used, while a large weapons might be rather impractical (but effective regardless).

  • Name: Nukari Reddo (Misleading)
    Type: Ninjutsu/Genjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: The user does a series of hands seals as they concentrate on the chakra a long their vocal chords and deep within the Diaphragm. Coating the Sound waves with chakra the user projects forth in a minor manor as the sound waves bounce off of various objects. Doing so the voice, or the sounds coming from the very mouth is not projected or heard for a brief moment. As the user does this, this is used to confuse the enemy making the opponent seem as if they know the exact location of the user but of course this would not be true.

  • Name: Urutora Oto Shindou (Ultra sound vibration)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-B-Rank
    Requirements: Must know Himei no Jutsu (shriek), Ototon primary element
    Description: Much like Himei no Jutsu. The user sends a powerful and high pitched noise directly at an opponent. The user may use their vocal cords or weapon to emit the sound, which is launched at a 60 degree radius. The sound waves do not target hearing, bit rather an opponent bone structure. The sound waves hits the solid bones and bounces off of them, causing them to vibrate. This vibration is extremely painful to the opponent, can tamper with an opponents actions. The opponent can still move and hear, but attacks and movements are severely hindered (C- rank=2 post, B-Rank=4 posts) the effectiveness of this jutsu and an opponent must caught at least 1/3 in this jutsu range
    C-Ranks reaches a maximum of 30 meters,
    B-Ranks reaches a Maximum of 60 meters.

  • Name: Aoserena-do (Green Serenade)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: Medical Specialist
    Description: A love song is played on a flute, and it's melody is infused with Chakra. The good nature of the song is shown when light wounds of those focused upon (meaning enemies can be excluded) begin to heal with a light green glow. The song in total is about 5 minutes long, but certain verses can be repeated to elongate it.

  • Name: Ixeroborero (Yellow Bolero)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: The user plays a fast paced tune that expresses anger and anxiety. At will, the user may launch from the instrument a wave of sound that can rip through the ground with ease. It begins the size of the instrument and grows slowly, beginning exceedingly fast but rapidly slowing as the wave increases with size. Once it reaches about 20 feet, the wave becomes too large and weak to sustain, and dissipates. This song is written to overlap "Gray Waltz" well.

  • Name: Grueenbu (Gray Waltz)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: The user plays a slow, background-like dance melody that creates multiple images of themselves. They are not illusions, though they cannot be touched. Made of sound, the only thing they can do is relay sound-based Jutsu through themselves from their creator. This song is written to be a background tune for "Yellow Bolero".

  • Name: Kurozokyoku (Black Ballad)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: A song that begins sounding innocent, then sharply becomes dramatic, then sorrowful, while slowly becoming peaceful and surreal is played by the user. It hypnotizes them into thinking they have nothing to loose, and they become fearless and bloodthirsty. This effectively increases their endurance (as they believe they cannot feel pain) and their strength and speed (because of the powerful adrenaline rush, complete with blood lust and anger) while altering their attitude. This song is one of the hardest Song Arts to use, as it requires deep memorization in order to continue playing it flawlessly while enraged. The user feels the song flow through them, however, making it harder for them to forget about it and easier to concentrate on.

  • Name: The Quiet Game
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: N/A
    Description: After forming the hand seals and holding the ram seal, the user coats his entire body in chakra. This chakra will absorb any sound waves released and nullify by the body, including those caused by stepping.This does not fool sight in anyway. You can still hear cause the sound waves are only absorbed one way.

  • Name: Togiretogire Mimi (Broken Ear)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki C Rank.
    Description: The user forms blades out of the sound waves in their throat, expelling them from their mouth. Three waves will be produced. The waves are thin lines, and very sharp. They will fly, fast, for about ten meters before they stop. The expand in crescent shapes as they fly.

  • Name: Himei Yokoana (Scream Tunnel)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: C-Rank
    Requirements: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki C Rank.
    Description: The user creates a build up of chakra in their vocal cords, releasing it in an almighty burst. The resultant sound blast pushes or blows an opponent back five to ten meters, as well as deafening them for a post.

    Rank: B-Rank
    Requirements: Himei no Jutsu

As the user does so the user is capable of pushing in one direction to make the opponent feel the same effects as that of the Himei no Jutsu. All basic information of the Himei no Jutsu applies including the distance.The technique has a range of twenty meters for the basic D Class Ninja.When the user opens up their mouth they concentrate on the very vocal chords of their throat and push forth in one direction a massive scream capable of great damage is thrown out. For every difficulty class the range increases by five meters with a maximum of forty meters for S Class. For any opponent that is within one third of distance from the user the opponent is unable to hear for three posts, feels nauseous for two posts, and can mot move for one post.     Description: The user builds up chakra in their vocal cords and releases it in a single packet, sending a powerful blast of sound at the opponent. It can break through C Ranked defenses, Doton techniques, and causes internal damage through resonance if it strikes the opponent.

  • Name: Oto Ketsuretsu (Sound Rupture)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: A-rank
    Requirements: Must know at least 8 sound techs before learning
    Description: The user emits an extremely large sound wave, covering 100 sq meters.The sound waves are extremely high and vibrate human cells violently.The cells continue to vibrate till the liquids within them must escape,beyond the cells membrane, literally exploding.
    - Those caught within1/4 of the sound waves suffer massive internal hemorrhaging on most of his/her organ, as well as bodily paralysis for 2 turns.
    - Those in the 2/4 range experience extreme headache/distortion/deafness and inability to move for 5 turns, with minor hemorrhaging still occurring in the organs
    - Any caught in the final range 3/4 range experience headache/distortion/deafness for 3 turn, with no Hemorrhaging.
    - Any caught in the final 4/4 range experience headache/distortion and deafness for 1 turn

  • Name: Onkyou Zoushoku" (Sound Amplification)
    Type: Ninjutsu/Genjutsu, supplementary
    Rank: A-rank
    Requirements: Must know Sound Bullets (B), Shriek (B) and must know Sonic Vibration
    Description:The user emits a high pitched screech controlled and held in place by chakra. The sound emitted enters the ears of all who hears it (30 meters). The sounds continues to ring in the ears of those who hear it and does not leave for 3 posts. The ringing is actually sound trapped in the ear canal, held in place by the chakra. All sounds heard there after is amplified by 50% because of the sound already trapped in the ear canal (somewhat to the extent of"sound bouncing off of sound").

  • Name: Inmetsu Koukyoukyoru (Destruction Symphony)
    Type: Ninjutsu
    Rank: S-rank
    Requirements: Bo-karu Koukyoukyoku Chishiki S Rank, Katto Serena-do
    Description: The user screams, releasing a huge burst of chakra from their throat.This blast divides into any number of thin, slicing sound waves that cut the area all around the user, capable of slicing through a human like butter and cannot be stopped by any defense weaker than A Rank and no Doton technique can stop it. The sound waves cut in a fifteen meter area all around the user, in a complete sphere, meaning underground and airborne targets are also struck. The user is left drained and voiceless afterwords.

Uh there is a big issue on Ototon styled jutsu, mainly because they're completely overpowered but through cannon story they were never used by the right people. First sound just provide an absolute presence concealment ability because of the fact that they use natural sound or sound in general to perform tasks capable to confusion to the enemy. One major reason is that sound in general no matter how your phrase, it allows you to control exactly what the opponent hears, how they hear and how much they hear. No one can control that meaning that users of this technique gain an unbelievable advantage against any opponent including summonings. Another thing is that Sound is the perfect weapon because every ninja can be stealthy and stalk an opponent before the battle and prepare jutsu, you can't block or dodge sound because it is unable to be seen or felt except upon impact. Like Hittori said also if someone is a master at cahkra control which we allow on the site, they can be creative enough to insure that every sound attack hits without fail, and there for people developing jutsu in this element would become virtually unbeatable because in example; someone uses ototon katon and futon as elements and has specific jutsu to do one thing in each someone can literally go, Ototon to do sound damage and immobilize which no one can avoid not even by covering your ear because could will phase through a human body, Futon to trap a person so in event that they are still doing something while taking unbearable pain they can't move, also used to amplify fire, and then Katon to basically incinerate the person meaning instant death. yeah two of those things can be avoided, but if Ototon is used as one of them, it makes someone stop because no matter what if sound hits your ear or body strong enough it will stop you, meaning a set up for a perfect kill no questions asked. Not saying that there are jutsu that people will exploit just right off the bad but if this is an element then there is room for possiblity and before we are forced to have to limit over and over and over until the element is so limited that no one has fun with it anymore I would say we simply not have it.

If you are however really heart set on having it there has to be equipment that is used to use sound attacks meaning the attacks cannot be used until the equipment breaks. it's the only way to make fair game.

She has instruments in the equipment thread. And their succeptable to Physical damage. We as moderators can keep the jutsu under control by not approving anything that autohits the opponents ears.

I will also allow the creation of sound-dampening headphones. As they exist without chakra they would only be amplified with them.

How can you say that you can limit an auto hit by sound, it can't be blocked Gin. And for these headphones they would be one of the few tools needed to prevent high damage from the sound but the damage can't be perfectly prevented, therefore there's going to be a lot of limiting on the sound attacks and like I said if you guys want to keep making things that constantly would restrict the use of the sound then go on ahead, my suggestion would be simply to not have it, but if it works for 2 out of the 3 there's not much I can do but to go with the majority

I'm not even fighting for something, there is no confrontation here. All I ask is that that oto jutsu have to directional, they can't just be 360 degrees, everything is hit, it has to have a moment speed, and be dodgeable.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

Yeah, it makes sense to me. I've never seen any battles that made me say "Wow, Ototon is really OP!" It's a pretty decent element. It is dodge-able, just harder as you can't see it coming like with Fire or any other element (Save for most wind jutsu)

But anyways, I give these my approval. But since Princess had a problem, we can't approve these till we come to an agreement.

-sighs- I'm going to clarify some things, if I may.

Firstly, no where on any of these jutsu does it say that everything is sent out in a 360 degree angle at all times, save for one, and that is Sonar. Sonar generally has to be activated first if one wishes to be able to get the jump on their opponents or to make sure that the jump is not placed on them. Likewise, if Sonar is not sent out at least during every other post, you can't know what's going on every single second of the thread. Especially if it's a battle thread. Kage or not, a person can't activate multiple sound jutsu's at once, especially ones that require hand seals or require the playing of an instrument. I've never heard anyone playing more than one song at one time on an instrument and though I won't say it's impossible, it's highly unlikely. That's why people who use Ototon have a better advantage fighting together than fighting alone. It's not impossible to win a fight all the time, but it's still difficult.

Secondly, all of the other jutsu are assumed to be directional. If you think about it, if that wasn't the case, then someone could activate Futon, Katon, or even Doton where ever and whenever they pleased and in a limitless amount of different directions. Futon is everywhere. It's in the air we breathe both in and out and it constantly is circling us. Doton is what we stand on. Unless you can fly, if it weren't directional, you'd be screwed. And Katon is utilized by the oxygen in the air, as well as the breath in one's body combined by chakra. Technically, if you really wanted to get crazy, you could make someone spontaneously combust just by messing with the energy of fire in one's body. XD Yes, sound is a vibration in the air, but most of these attacks (hell, all of them now that I'm looking) require a user to be able to not only know where their opponent is, but can be dodged as well. Think of Midvalley the Hornfreak from Trigun. His weapon was a saxophone and though he manipulated the vibrations in the air to attack, Vash was still able to dodge a good portion of his attacks once he figured out what he was doing.

Anyway, if my explanation still doesn't suffice, I will make the necessary changes where they need to be made. Overall, all of these attacks, save for Sonar, are directional and must land a hit before they are successful in achieving the necessary effect.
