The Beginning of Something More(?)

It was a particularly warm day in Kiri, despite the physical appearance of the weather. The sky was its usual blue-ish gray color and a thin mist covered the village; nothing new. High up in the Kage tower sat Riku, flipping through paper work. It had been quite some time since he had last seen Ayame during their spar in the arena. Not a day went by where he didn't think of her. He felt as if there might be something there, some greater connection between the two of them, but the two of them hadn't run into each other since then. He sighed, leaning back in his chair as he finished the paper work for the day. It seemed like being Mizukage was more about papers than actually being a ninja. Perhaps he should give it up and just become a normal Jounin again so he got to do all the fun stuff like missions again. Or, perhaps he could take on a team in an attempt to hand down his skills.
