Background: Elena grew up in Kumogakure with her mother. Her father had been killed when Elena was only 6 years old. After her father was killed, Elena didn't want to be bothered with anyone. She was very anti social, thinking everyone was out to hurt her. She never had the feeling of being loved, seeing as her mother only wept from day to day, mourning over the death of her husband. For seven years Elena lived that like, watching her mom cry, and only watching the children on the street run around care free. They're only like that because they do not know what it is like without a father figure Elena thought as she stared at the kids. She used her fathers death as an excuse for being anti social. She figured that any one would be the same if they had lost their father too.

When Elena was 13, she got lonely of being inside all the time. She still hated people for what had been done with her father, but tried to ignore the huge pain in her chest. She had hung out with the other children for an hour or so, and she loved the feeling of being outside. She felt very awkward at first but slowly began to creep out of her shell. The next day she decided to go out again, and the same for the day after that. She started to trust people again and had found someone who understood her. There was a boy in the town that knew what Elena went through with her fathers death. This boy's mother had been killed when he was 8, but he never said why. She decided that she could not let her fathers death control her life any further and changed.

With the help of her new friends, Elena bursted out of her once very strong shell. She understood that what happened to her father was in the past, and she could no longer sit and mourn with her mom day after day. Elena discovered the outgoing person she is today. Elena now enjoys being around people and enjoys having fun, since she spent 7 years of her life completely secluded from people.
